How to look Martha Stewart levels of good

There’s good skin, and then there’s Martha Stewart’s skin. In recent years, the 81-year-old has become Gen Z’s most unlikely beauty influencer, hosting viral campaigns for Clé de Peau and posting the outrageously good skin selfies. The latest of these has – once again – smashed the internet.
On Monday, the mogul posted a closeup on Instagram with the caption: “As I lay in @FredericFekkai’s shampoo area, the light was perfect for a new selfie. Absolutely no re-imaging!!! Skin is looking good after a mostly dry January and Pilates @bedfordpilates every other day. By reimaging I mean no filtering of my selfie!”
Her radiant, poreless face and perfect pout seemed almost too good to be true – and fans urged the celebrity to be honest about her facial. “No Photoshop just spent hundreds of thousands on cosmetic surgery, botox, restylane, fillers and more,” one fan commented, while another insisted she had a facelift.
Stewart addressed the naysayers by sharing three more selfies: “These are the other three selfies I’ve taken. My expression was better on the first one but my skin looks great on all of them. Unfiltered. No facelift,” Stewart wrote in her post caption. Instead, she listed what she actually did to get her incredible, timeless skin…
dr Daniel Belkins
One of the two dermatologists that Stewart credited for her glowing complexion was Dr. Daniel Belkins. The board-certified dermatologist graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College and was voted one of America’s top cosmetic dermatologists (particularly for injectables) by News Week.
Since Stewart’s skin has long fascinated beauty journalists, last year the New York Times ran a feature, “Martha Stewart Welcomes You to Generation Ageless,” to talk about her youthful complexion and the TikTok campaign with luxury beauty brand Clé de Peau to speak. In it, Belkin revealed that she only has “non- or minimally invasive” work done “probably twice a year,” adding that “she does it thoughtfully and conservatively.”
He then detailed her treatment plan, which consisted of lasers for redness, gentle skin resurfacing, and brown spots; bulking agents for volume and collagen stimulation; and high-frequency and micro-focused ultrasound to refresh the brow area and “lift, tighten and plump” under the chin. As for her lips: “a soft hyaluronic acid, more for hydration than for plumping.”
dr Dhaval Bhanusali
The other dermatologist mentioned in her Instagram caption was Dr. Dhaval Bhanusali or Dr. B for his patients, which include Hailey Bieber (the two even collaborated on their best-selling skincare brand, Rhode). Based in New York City, he is recognized as one of the most pioneering cosmetic dermatologists of the turn of the millennium, having created Skin Medicinals, a platform that enables other dermatologists to offer their patients highly effective and customized skin care solutions at an affordable price.
dr B used the platform for Stewart, where he custom-made her a holistically-informed, CBD-enriched hydrating serum, calming mist, and night cream. The two are also developing similar CBD themes for Stewart’s up-and-coming beauty brand 86 Elm, with Stewart reportedly being “obsessed” with the trending skincare ingredient.
In a 2020 interview with The Wall Street Journal, Dr. B that Stewart also shares skin care advice with him and constantly reminds him to put on sunscreen when they’re together. “She’s always about nurturing and creating good habits,” he said. “It’s an ongoing active choice for her to take care of her skin.”
Facial therapist Mario Badescu
The brand was founded in 1967 by Mario Badescu, who was blending products and performing facial treatments in his two-bedroom apartment in New York City. Since then, the brand has grown into a signature 34-room salon filled with Badescu-trained beauticians and a line of 200 products available worldwide – many of which Stewart is very fond of.
In a 2022 press release, Martha Stewart said, “I’ve been a customer of Mario Badescu since the 1960s, when Mr. Badescu was still alive and making his magical products.” She added: When Mario died, the business was taken over by his second-in-command , Mr. Genesco, and I continued to have all the wonderful services.” The presenter is true to her words — after using her viral selfie moment to once again praise her weekly Mario Badescu facials.
In fact, the beauty brand’s New York flagship store even offers “The Martha Facial” for customers who want to try Stewart’s favorite treatment. The $130 three-part facial includes Mario Badescu’s European Facial, The Luxurious and Age Defying Gold Treatment, and the Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Collagen Eye Treatment, all co-signed by the TV host. She also says they “always equipped my guest rooms and my own bathrooms with everything Mario is.”
An ultra-clean diet and the infamous daily green juice
Another factor that Stewart blamed for her gorgeous skin texture was her diet. At a Harper’s Bazaar What I eat in a day YouTube Video Stewart revealed which part of it she particularly contributes to her looks.
“My green juice is very special to me. I really think it’s the secret of good skin, I think it’s the secret of good, healthy hair,” she said.
The former caterer went on to explain that she wakes up at 6:15 a.m. every day and reads The New York Times cover to cover before making the juice, which includes the cucumber, parsley, mint, and half an orange, including the zest contains , and celery all from her greenhouse and garden. She also adds “a little bit” of ginger and pineapple.
She also confesses that she’s “not a snacker,” relying instead on a light lunch — usually a tuna salad — and barely stocking her industrial-size glass-door fridge. Instead, she stocks a range of quality ingredients, including “really good organic milk,” “lots of good butter,” creme fraiche “for omelettes,” and fresh eggs from her chickens. “It saves me all the time,” she said. She also reiterated that much of her food is harvested from her own farm, explaining, “I want organic, I want clean, I want tasty and I want healthy.”
Bedford Pilates
Though her home gym is outfitted with a peloton, DB machine, exercise balls and weights, and she’s regularly spotted horseback riding around her farm, she also swears by Bedford Pilates every other day in her Instagram caption.
Founded in Bedford in 2003 by sisters Lorraine Canzoniero and Dale Weber, the studio describes itself as “a healing and non-intimidating, friendly environment offering both classical and contemporary Pilates.
“Some mornings I don’t feel like exercising, but I do it anyway and I’m so happy afterwards. I always feel refreshed and energized,” she wrote on her eponymous blog. “Just do something every day — any exercise, any length — and it will eventually become a positive part of your lifestyle.”
