game preview

Powerful striker Carlton Morris has led the comeback against Luton this season with 11 of his 35 Championship goals and the 27-year-old could make a lasting impression in the Hatters’ home game against a struggling Cardiff.

Luton have won four of their last five league games but manager Rob Edwards has had to be careful with Morris, who recently suffered a minor calf strain.

However, Morris came on as a 60th-minute substitute in their 2-2 home draw with Grimsby in the FA Cup fourth round and should be ready to return to the starting XI.

The hosts will assess their chances against fourth-bottom Cardiff, who have been unbeaten in 11 years and are preparing for their first game under new manager Sabri Lamouchi.

Cardiff are the lowest scorer in the division but they have also gone five games without conceding and their defense could be exposed by Morris, which is a decent value to start the standings.

key stat

Carlton Morris has opened the scoring in six of Luton’s last eleven league home games.
