Andy Carroll REGRETTED short-term West Brom move after just ‘the second day’ as a Baggies player

Andy Carroll has admitted he regretted his short stint at West Brom last season from the day after he joined the club.
The forward signed with the Baggies in January after his contract expired and was bought in by Valerien Ismael to replace Daryl Dike, who was injured on his first start for the club.
Seen as a short-term option, Carroll made his West Brom debut against Millwall. However, it was Ismael’s last game in charge of the club and he was replaced by Carroll’s former Newcastle boss Steve Bruce.

Carroll and Baggies boss Steve Bruce apparently didn’t get along during their time together
Although he had previously played under Bruce, there were indications that he and Carroll were at odds with the Hawthorns as the Baggies endured a miserable end to their championship campaign.
The former England striker struck three times in 15 games for the Baggies but admitted he regretted moving to the Midlands club just a day after signing on the dotted line.
“To be honest, the second day I was there [at West Brom] I regretted going there,” Carroll told Berkshire Live.

Despite scoring three times for the club, Carroll did not enjoy his time at West Brom in 2021-22

Carroll had happier times with Bruce when they were both at Newcastle in the Premier League
After leaving West Brom at the end of the season, the 33-year-old returned to Reading in September, where he signed a contract until mid-January.
This time around, however, Carroll is hoping to extend his stay with Paul Ince’s side and has confirmed he would like to sign a new contract at the Madejski Stadium should he be offered one.
He continued: “Hopefully you asked the gaffer and he gave you the answer [about an extended stay]but I’m willing to sign if there’s a deal there.’
Carroll has made 12 appearances for the Royals this season, scoring twice, and the club currently sit 8th in the Championship table – two points adrift of the play-offs.
