Bramham Horse Trials adds support to new charity Here4Horses

An international horse testing event supports rescue horses in north-east England, an area where horse protection cases are among the most widespread in the country.
Yorkshire’s Bramham International Horse Trials has selected Here4horses as a charity partner for 2023, and the small charity is very grateful for the support.
Based at Farnley Farm in Crook, County Durham, Here4horses was formed when Covid-19 was hit by a group of horse lovers looking to help horses in the North East. Chairman of the Board of Trustees Nicola Endersby is one of the founding members. In her work as a veterinarian, she was only too aware of the cruelty horses can be subjected to, having been involved in several cases with the RSPCA.
Here4Horses is run entirely by volunteers providing rescue, refuge and rehabilitation for horses, ponies, donkeys and mules. Each horse or pony that is placed in their care remains the property of the charity for life, but the team works with their horses to rehabilitate them so they can go to foster care or a rental home. TV presenter Matt Baker is the president of the charity and the center is currently home to almost 50 horses. With running costs around £6000 a month, the need to raise funds is ever present.
“We may be a small charity, but we have big ambitions and we sincerely hope this partnership will help raise our profile and get more exposure for our work – and of course raise some much-needed funds,” Endersby said.
“We look forward to joining everyone in Bramham with a trade stand, including a shop and drop facility, and showcasing the tireless work of our volunteers to ensure a brighter future for all horses.”
Bramham is Yorkshire’s largest equestrian event and takes place from 8th to 11th June. Next year’s event will include the Showcase CCI3*-L, Under 25 CCI4*-L and Land Rover CCI4*-S, as well as the NAF Five Star BE 80 National Championships, high-level show jumping, pony club jumping and riding games, demonstrations, Young stock, breeding and hunter show competitions. The popular Saracen Horse Feeds Arena Eventing with 90cm and 100cm classes will also take place.
A vibrant stand village with more than 130 outlets, a food hall and catering and refreshment options to suit all tastes.
The organizers are proud of the event’s “green credentials” and will work hard in 2023 to further reduce the event’s carbon footprint on the environment.
The Bramham Box Office will open on February 1st, 2023 gift card now available.
