Tottenham to ban fan who attacked Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale after derby

Tottenham say they will identify and ban the supporter who attacked Arsenal goalkeeper Aaraon Ramsdale after Sunday’s north London derby.
Arsenal won 2-0 to move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League but tensions boiled over after the final whistle when one of the Spurs fans climbed over the billboards and kicked out Ramsdale before being pulled back by stewards.
“We are appalled by the behavior of a fan who attempted to tackle Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale at the end of today’s game. Violence in any form has no place in football,” Spurs said in a statement.
“The club have reviewed their CCTV footage to identify the supporter and will work with the Met Police, Arsenal and Aaron Ramsdale to take the strongest action possible, including an immediate ban on Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.”
The football association and the professional football association also condemned the actions of the fans.
“We condemn in the strongest possible terms the incident involving a spectator following today’s Premier League match between Tottenham and Arsenal,” the FA said in a statement.
“This is totally unacceptable behavior and we will work with the police, relevant authorities and clubs to ensure that the appropriate action is taken.”
And the PFA said: “Violence towards players is totally unacceptable. These types of incidents happen far too often,” the PFA said in a statement.
“Players have a right to be safe in their workplace. If a player is attacked, we expect that applicable laws and regulations designed to protect players will be properly enforced.
“As a players’ union, we treat that as a priority. We will continue to work with authorities to demand that players and staff be better protected in their workplace.”

Ramsdale also spoke about the incident after the game, admitting he was disappointed with the actions of the fan in question.
“The Spurs fans gave me some of that throughout the game,” he said. “I gave something back. The people I gave it to gave it a sporty welcome, but a fan tried to give me a small smack on the back.
“It’s a shame because at the end of the day it’s just a football game. Both groups of players tried to take me away but luckily nothing too drastic happened. It’s a bitter taste but I’m sure we’ll do it. ” enjoy as we go back to the dressing room.”
Meanwhile, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte demanded “respect” from the club’s supporters.
“Every moment we have to show respect,” he said. “If we want respect, we have to show respect. To be honest I didn’t see that. But when it happened, I certainly didn’t like that kind of situation.”
