Bulldogs Drop Final Non-Conference Road Game

DURHAM, NC- The Citadel men’s basketball team dropped its last nonconference road game of the season, losing 81-74 Tuesday night at NC Central in Durham, North Carolina.

How it happened
- The Citadel came on the board first with a basket Elijah Morganbut a 4:42 scoring drought allowed the Eagles to open a seven-point lead.
- After this Austin Ash hit a three-pointer to tie, the Eagles took the lead with a 12-0 run and took a double-digit lead just under four minutes before halftime.
- The Bulldogs would come as close to eight points Colby McAllister scored in the transition phase and then found Ash on the wing for a three.
- Turnovers continued to be the story as The Citadel turned the ball 14 times in the first half, resulting in 11 NCCU points.
- The Bulldogs came out of the locker room as a different team, opening the half on a 17-9 run to take a one-point lead on one AJ Smith Layup with just over 12 minutes to play.
- The Eagles responded with an own run that opened up an eight-point lead with just under eight minutes to go.
- The Citadel would draw within one to three points Elijah Morgan Three-pointers, but the Eagles wouldn’t let the Bulldogs get any closer.
