Gateway Academy Participates in Angel Tree
learning labs Gateway Academy Students participate in the Angel Tree program each year at the end of the fall semester. They participate in the Angel Tree program through the Rutherford County Foster Parents Association (RCFPA), which serves foster children and families in Rutherford County.
“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, thousands of children are being cared for by this system, more than ever. Our aim is to give gifts to some of these children in the hope that we will help make their Christmas a memorable one.”
Gateway Academy has been involved with RCFPA’s Angel Tree for over 5 years. During that time they have donated to over 100 angels. Students, families, and faculty participate by either donating gifts or money that is used by Gateway Academy staff to go out and buy gifts so they are able to fulfill their angels’ wants and needs. The students and staff then wrap the gifts and deliver them to the RCFPA before Christmas.”The angel
The tree program is a great experience for our school community each year and gives our students, families and faculty an opportunity to give back to those in need. This year has been a great success and there will be many grateful angels to open a gift over the holidays!”
The Angel Tree program was created by The Salvation Army and is offered in the United States and Canada. It is a way for children in need to receive Christmas gifts when they would otherwise not be able to. Contact your local Salvation Army for details on donating. Due to the cold weather, the Salvation Army is having to pause many of the kettlebell rings, so participating in the local Angel Tree program or making an online donation is a great way to show your support!
