Opening in Summer 2022, THE NICI in Bournemouth has announced that Marcus O’Leary has joined the team as the new General Manager.
With nearly 30 years of international experience, primarily at Marriott Vacations Worldwide, as Vice-President of Resort Operations, O’Leary brings international expertise to this role.
Well-versed in providing brand standards, O’Leary led the on-site resort experience program for the entire brand, including resorts in Hawaii, Aruba, St. Kitts, Phuket and Bali, as well as over 50 continental US hotels that he brings this experience to THE NICI.
Returning from Marriott Vacations Worldwide Global Head Quarters in Orlando, Florida in 2020, O’Leary has spent the last two years leading the team at the Iconic Luxury Hotel’s Lygon Arms, delivering luxurious guest experiences in the Cotswolds.
With further expansion plans in 2023, O’Leary will also prove instrumental in delivering a successful hotel operating model to be rolled out at future locations.

Having completed the first phase of refurbishment with an investment of £20m so far, THE NICI has 84 luxurious rooms, many with sea views, garden spa suites, the South Beach Restaurant, Bar & Terrace, an indoor cinema and new meetings and events facilities.
THE NICI is now embarking on the next phase of development, building on its five-star hotel concept with a 30-metre outdoor pool, luxury spa, state-of-the-art fitness facilities and holiday homes, to be completed by Spring 2023.
