Why Strictly’s Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg are celebrating Christmas apart

Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg will be celebrating very different Christmases this year, with the Strictly dancer jetting to Australia alone for the holiday season
Diana Buswell and Joe Sugg surprised fans this week when Dianne flown to Australia without her boyfriend accompanied her as she prepared to spend Christmas on the other side of the world.

Dianne flew back to spend Christmas with her family, including her young niece Zofia, who will be celebrating her second Christmas. Joe will likely be spending the holidays with his own family, including his own niece, Ottilie. Dianne had already planned to see her parents and shared several messages from her father that he would see her if she made it Strict Final.

Unfortunately, Dianne and her celebrity partner Tyler West were eliminated during the show’s Blackpool special.

The professional dancer will want to spend Christmas with her family, as she has not been able to for the last two years. In 2020 the world went through lockdown periods, while in 2021 she contracted COVID-19 while vacationing with Joe in Lapland.
It’s not uncommon for Dianne to fly to Australia alone, and the couple separated for their first Christmas together in 2018what happened shortly after they first met.
Dianne went home for the holidays
During her absence, Dianne shared how she missed her then-new boyfriend, saying: “I honestly feel so fortunate to be in Australia with the best family any girl could ask for and I have a very special one Human waiting for me I’m returning to the UK @joe_sugg. I hope everyone out there is having the most amazing Christmases spent with their loved ones and the best time of sending joy and happiness to you all.
The couple even spent time apart last year when Dianne traveled home alone.

But she delighted fans when she shared reunion photos with her boyfriend, sharing a photo of the couple snuggled up on the sofa and joking, “Football may not have come home but this little jet lag ball has.”
But even though they’re apart, that doesn’t mean they didn’t get into the festive spirit together as they shared a sweet video of them decorate a Christmas tree together.
