UNA adds 16 high school players to Brent Dearmon’s first class as the Lions’ head coach

First-year head coach Brent Dearmon’s program signed 17 players Wednesday, with 16 signings coming from high school players. In the early signing phase, Dearmon focused on signing transfer portal and junior college players.

In total, Dearmon added 32 players to the UNA program.

Once again, Cornell Maynor has made heavy use of the transfer portal to build a recruiting class. The Bulldogs welcome eight players from the transfer portal, as well as junior college linebacker Tony Overstreet.

Maynor is also developing depth as a quarterback with 6-foot-6 freshman Cory Chavis and Transfer Portal newcomers Dustin Fletcher from Northern Illinois and Brian Plummer from Buffalo.
