Former Liverpool and France forward Djibril Cisse models Lidl brand fleeces, hats, socks, bags and boxers

Djibril Cisse is best known for his time at Liverpool but now he has embarked on a rather unexpected career path.

The former striker won the Champions League and FA Cup with the Reds but the now 41-year-old models… for retailer Lidl.

The German supermarket chain has launched a new fashion collection ranging from boxer shorts to shoes.

And Cisse is helping to promote their latest range by showcasing the offering in an Instagram video.

Fleeces, socks and even bags are worn by the former France international, with the supermarkets’ branding colors of yellow, red and blue clearly showing.

He also showed off his footballing skills while wearing Lidl branded boots, although he is clearly in his late teens.

Despite such a career change, a look at the rest of his Instagram page reveals that he loves his fashion.

Lidl may have gotten a big signature for its new range, with the ex-pro clearly loving what he wears.

Cisse had a glittering career on the pitch, scoring 272 goals in over 600 appearances for all clubs.

After impressing at Auxerre from Ligue 1, he finally signed for Liverpool in 2004.

He would win a European title with them in his first season by scoring a penalty on penalties against AC Milan in the historic Champions League final.

Cisse later joined English clubs Sunderland and QPR before playing across Europe, his last club being American fourth division club Panathinaikos Chicago.
