Fast food review YouTuber Danny Malin has announced his engagement nearly two years after his fiancee died suddenly of a heart attack.
Mr Malin, who runs the Rate My Takeaway YouTube channel, confirmed he had found love again with wellness coach Sophie Mei Lan just a few weeks ago.
He announced they are now engaged on Twitter, writing that Sophie “made him healthy again” and that he hopes to spend his life making his new love and children happy.
The 43-year-old viral star, who lives in Leeds but is originally from Barnsley, told his fans he expected to “live out my days as a lonely old man” before meeting Sophie, who is believed to have that she is in her early thirties.

His late fiancé Carrie Taylor tragically died in February 2021 at the age of 40 after suffering a heart attack at the couple’s home – leaving behind the two children she shared with Mr Malin and a son from a previous relationship in his sole care.
Confirming his engagement, Mr Malin said: “I thought I would spend my days as a lonely old man but since she met Sophie Mei Lan she has made me whole again.
“Time is short and I don’t waste any of it. I asked Sophie to marry me and luckily she said yes. I will spend every day making you and our children happy.”

The popular YouTuber, who has over 580,000 subscribers, shared news about his relationship with Sophie in November, about eight weeks after the two met.
He said after meeting Sophie, who works as a journalist and wellness coach under the Instagram handle @thesparklecoach, he learned to “laugh, giggle and enjoy life again.”
“I am happy to say that we are now in a relationship and I would like to thank Sophie for not only showing me that there is happiness again but for being so supportive and understanding regarding our family situation. “

Mr Malin later published a photo of the couple celebrating their engagement at the Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square, central London.
