Morrison also told PS he deliberately refrained from revealing his role as a judge to his friends in the industry because doing so would invariably “lead to awkward conversations”.

“The situation is a farce,” fumed Jones, a now-retired Sydney radio news veteran, citing ACRA’s rules for objective and impartial judges. “How can there be no conflict of interest when the judge is married to the winner? I raised this issue early in the process when I learned that Morrison would be judging the price. I kept bringing it up with the CEO of Commercial Radio and Audio Ford Ennals, but absolutely nothing was done about it. This is a journalism award, good journalism is about impartiality. I will not judge again.”

Morrison, a former radio journalist who is now news director for Seven’s Sydney television department, told PS his wife was “unaware” he was one of the jurors, arguing he had the award “many times before” without it problems and he is “very good friends” with many previous nominees and winners.

“I find it very offensive that there could be any suggestion that anything inappropriate happened here,” Morrison said, adding that he has also been his wife’s boss in the past, again without any hint of “preferential treatment” .

When asked if he understood why the other judges viewed his marriage as a potential conflict of interest, he said, “It wasn’t an issue, I’ve spent years spotting good talent and there’s no question that Heidi was outstanding talent is.”

On Friday afternoon, a spokesman for ACRAs said the rules do not prohibit family members from evaluating contributions; However, the process will be reviewed for next year’s awards ceremony “to ensure the event reflects industry standards and expectations.”

If the suit doesn’t fit…

Georgie Parker shined brightly at this year’s Logies wearing a bespoke sequined cocktail suit designed by fashion designer Adelaide Christina Tridente and her label Couture+Love+Madness, which previously created dresses for sizes like Dannii Minogue, Lucy Durack and Michala Banas.

When the TV star, who has received two Gold Logies over the years and is skilled in the dark arts of red carpet dressing, wore the outfit on her Instagram account, Tridente wrote on Parker’s feed, “You look amazing! I’m so glad we were able to make this suit for you,” added a love heart emoji, which was returned with two love heart emojis from Parker.

Six months later, and the warm and fluffy has turned to cold and prickly, as Tridente released a scathing account of what she thought happened in the months following the awards.

The designer posted on Facebook: “We designed a custom outfit for the Logies earlier this year. The stylist went to a tailor (sic) and changed the shape of the suit without asking our permission.

“It wasn’t a fit issue – the whole pant was butchered to change the shape. I only found out when we were tagged and contacted in a post by the Sydney tailor on Instagram. They were nice and had no idea it was a loan as the changes could not be recovered.

“From then on I contacted the stylist and said she would pass the cost on to the network and then she ghosted me and blocked me on both of my Insta accounts obviously hoping our conversations would go away (but I did screenshots). After 6 months of hassles with your agency, I finally got the suit back this week.”

However, what Tridente received had 28 cm of fabric cut off the pants. She has since deleted the post but confirmed its content to PS before declining to comment further. Parker’s stylist Pip Cook declined to comment on the situation, but confirmed she was aware of Tridente’s post, adding that the garment was custom made for Parker but had to be altered because “it didn’t fit.”

The trio’s Bondi ambitions are shelved

Three sons from three prominent Sydney families have ended up in hot water over their fledgling Bondi property development ambitions.

David Avidanson of a builder Danny Avidan and former fashion designer Charlie Brown; Max MoranSon of Health Care Heir Markus Moran and woman Yvette; and Jack KeigherySon of the late fashion pioneer Mark Keighery and his widow Lisahave come into conflict with Waverley Council over unauthorized work on a property in Francis Street.

The three are described as the founders and directors of South Head Developments, which was put on hold in October.

The site, a semi-detached home for which the company paid $3.23 million in February, is subject to a Complying Development Certificate (CDC) issued by a private certifier in May. The demolition of the property on the site did not fall under the CDC’s terms of consent. In August, the council issued three fines to the developer, two of which were for failure to comply with CDC conditions.

McLachlan’s show in a can

Craig McLachlan‘s big showbiz comeback seems to have derailed in the 11th hour with his New Year’s Eve show Hey Handsome with Craig McLachlan silently cancelled.

Described as a tribute to the American country music star Hank Williamsthe show was to be held at the historic Thebarton Theater in Adelaide.

McLachlan’s return to the stage would restart his career after he dropped his libel case against her heraldABC and earlier The Rocky Horror Show castmate Christie Whelan Browne in May, the same day the defense proceedings were due to begin.

the previous Neighbors star has to bear the court costs of the accused – allegedly in the millions – after the hearing was terminated on the 10th day.

McLachlan had appealed to the NSW Supreme Court in 2018 over a media inquiry that detailed allegations of improper conduct during the 2014 tour The Rocky Horror Show.

The reports claimed the now 56-year-old indecently assaulted, bullied, harassed and embarrassed female performers. McLachlan denied the claims, saying they ended his acting career. His now-canceled show in Adelaide promised audiences “to see Craig McLachlan like you’ve never seen him before”.

To further boost ticket sales, “Premium” ticket holders also got access to a private New Year’s Eve after-party with McLachlan at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, “complete with a drinks and food package.”

The body springs back

Elle Macpherson knows how to play with the tabloids and is rolling out the old bikini bottom routine once again this week. But really, the Daily Mail et al, who devoured Elle by “flaunting” her “impressive” figure, are missing the real story: how Elle defeated her “brain fog.”

Apparently it’s down to a small gold pendant she wears around her neck, not too dissimilar to the chains that dangle from Lovisa’s bargain merry-go-rounds. But this pendant is special. The veteran supermodel claims it protects her from “harmful” electromagnetic rays and Wi-Fi exposure.

“I’m sleeping better since I’ve been wearing it, I don’t get as much brain fog anymore,” she says without any irony. Once a week, wearers of the pendant must “harmonize” it with their body by holding it 30 cm from their breastbone for two minutes.

Of course, Elle has also been banking on the wonders of her green powder supplements for years, and has a long history of, um, interesting health habits, like carrying a kit in her purse to regularly test the PH levels of her urine.

She recently unveiled her discovery of Russian banyas, an ancient steam sauna tradition that involves skinning yourself with dry branches of trees or herbs called veniks. Sounds awfully scratchy.

Surely The Body deserves a little better treatment after 58 years of loyal service?
