Full UK launch of HIGHLANDER Lake District in 2023

After an initial test event in 2022, the long-distance hiking event series HIGHLANDER has expanded its presence in the UK with the launch of HIGHLANDER Lake District.

From 5th to 9th July 2023, the Lake District, England’s largest national park and World Heritage Site, will serve as the UK location for the international series of events.

HIGHLANDER Lake District is a long distance walking event providing participants with logistical support for a challenging walking route. The event features two different formats, including a 94km five-day hike and a 51km three-day journey. Event prices start from £249

The adventure trail runs from Scafell Pike – England’s highest mountain – to Wastwater, the deepest lake in the Lake District. The route also includes popular attractions such as Great Langdale and Borrowdale, Ullswater and Aira Force Waterfall, as well as the Wainwright Fells of Fairfield, High Raise and Steel Fell.

Established in Croatia in 2017, HIGHLANDER has grown to more than 30 events in 25 different countries, all with the mission of helping people to immerse themselves in nature.

In addition to hiking, HIGHLANDER offers participants other experiences. Each evening after reaching the designated checkpoint, participants can… ‘Immerse yourself in the festival atmosphere of the event by participating in an inspirational program of activities from music to yoga, workshops and more, or simply enjoy the spectacular starry sky, worlds away from that visible in light-polluted cities is.’

HIGHLANDER continues its global expansion and this year has upcoming events in Croatia, United States, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Italy, Spain and now the United Kingdom.
