Sky Sports news share update on Baggies loan targets

West Brom are still interested in signing Fulham’s Nathaniel Chalobah and Nottingham Forest’s Lewis O’Brien on loan, but a move for O’Brien has been described as “difficult”, according to sources Sky sports news.
The Baggies have been associated with movements for O’Brien [The Athletic, 28 January] and Chalobah [Daily Mail, 28 January] Throughout the January window, boss Carlos Corberan is looking to improve his midfield ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline [31 January].
Alan Nixon from The Sun reported on his Patreon page [29 January] Nottingham Forest midfielder O’Brien is keen to join Carlos Corberan at the Hawthorns after working together at Huddersfield Town last season.
The Spaniard had hoped to add fighting midfielder Lewis O’Brien to his side this month, however according to BBC reporter Simon Stone [30 January]the move looks likely to collapse as Nottingham Forest want to fit a £10m purchase commitment into the deal.
According to Sky Sports News [Transfer Centre Live, 30 January, 13:55]While the club remain interested in loan deals for Chalobah and the Forest midfielder, sources have described a deal for O’Brien as “difficult”.
Sky Sports News has reportedly been told that the Baggies aren’t the only club interested in signing the midfielder on loan this month. However, Fulham are reportedly ready to let Chalobah go with just five months left on his current contract.
Big hit
It will be a major blow if Corberan is unable to reunite with his former player O’Brien. The pair formed an impressive partnership at Huddersfield Town last season when they were so close to promotion to the Premier League after being beaten in the play-off final by O’Brien’s current employers Nottingham Forest.
While the midfielder is keen on reuniting with Corberan, it’s understandable why Forest signed a €10m buyout clause.
At 24, O’Brien still has some market value that Forest is keen to capitalize on. That shouldn’t be a stumbling block for the Baggies, however, as the player has the qualities to be a key player at the Hawthorns, just like he was at Huddersfield last season.
With his fellow climbers Sheffield United[The Sun, 29. Januar]which are also part of his signature, this is an opportunity not to be missed by the West Midlands club. The Baggies need to bring him and Chalobah in if they want to keep their promotion hopes alive.[TheSun29JanuaryalsointheframeforhissignaturethisisanopportunitytheWestMidlandsclubcannotaffordtopassuponTheBaggiesmustgethiminandChalobahiniftheyaretokeeptheirpromotionhopesalive[TheSun29JanuaryalsointheframeforhissignaturethisisanopportunitytheWestMidlandsclubcannotaffordtopassuponTheBaggiesmustgethiminandChalobahiniftheyaretokeeptheirpromotionhopesalive
